Outside of work, karol is often reading about and practicing computer hacking, performing at events in his local arts scene, or walking with Raoul the rescue dog. brooke haggerty has over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and has dedicated her career to animal protection. She stepped into the leadership role with Faunalytics in January 2020 after serving as our operations manager for over a year. Brooke is a former board member and programming chair for the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of San Diego, former board member for HandsOn San Diego, and actively volunteers with her alma mater’s student mentorship program. In 2022, she was named one of «40 Top Business Leaders Under 40» by the San Diego Business Journal.

Animals Used in Science

Björn Jóhann Ólafsson started advocating for animals at the ripe age of ten and hasn’t stopped since. After studying psychology and human rights at the University of Chicago and the Center for Decision Research, Björn worked in education and science writing. He then investigated animal agriculture as a journalist for Sentient Media and other publications, reporting on greenwashing campaigns, alternative proteins, and animal sentience.

Pona joined Faunalytics with a belief in data-driven animal advocacy and a desire to do more to protect the precious animals with whom we share our planet. She holds a BA in Arts Management from the University of Toronto, and has worked at a number of arts organizations throughout her career.

Faunalytics Studies

  • We’ve tried to shed light on the issue through our research on advocate retention and through our blog; for example, Identifying And Mitigating Burnout In Animal Advocacy, or Emotional Labor, Burnout, And Animal Advocacy.
  • Faunalytics’ Original Research and Research Library are vital programs, but the Research Support branch of our work is just as important.
  • Outside of work, they enjoy crafting, hiking, cuddling with their two cats, Luna and Lillian, and sipping iced lattes.

  • And although we experienced setbacks too, it’s important to recognize and celebrate the victories.

Though it’s important to note that accounting for differences in population, consumption in the U.S. is still higher than in China. Faunalytics is a unique NGO that helps people to help animals by providing essential research and resources to organisations, with the wonderful tagline, “Animals Need You. You Need Data.” Faunalitycs seeks to save animals using research and data to empower vegan businesses and advocates. Victoria is deeply passionate about animal advocacy and creating inclusive, people-centered workplaces. With a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, they have built a career focused on advancing organizational culture and operational excellence. Victoria entered the nonprofit sector with a drive to make a tangible impact, and their journey in people and operations management has only deepened their commitment to equity, social justice, and animal protection.

This year we revamped and revised our process to ensure our research is sourced and selected with input from animal advocates so that our results can and will be used widely. As a capacity-building research organization, our goal is https://www.bookstime.com/ to make research accessible and understandable to all advocates, not just academics. This year our team provided personalized, one-on-one support to over five dozen advocates and organizations directly through our office hours.

  • Our ground-breaking Animal Product Impact Scales identified the animal-derived food items that cause the most farmed animal suffering and death in order to feed the U.S. each day.
